Why does per 1000 matter to a buyer?
Per-1,000 pricing is what makes cross-panel comparison possible, and it is also the biggest source of misleading comparisons, because the unit is only meaningful when both sides count the same thing. In several categories they do not. YouTube watch hours are quoted per 1,000 quantity rather than per 1,000 hours, so the same product ranges from $23.50 to $8.19 per thousand real hours purely by requiring a longer video — a naive comparison is off by up to 8× (PanelCompare domain research, 2026-09-06).
Three other categories break the unit outright. Live and concurrent-viewer services price a slot for a session length, so a rate means nothing without the duration. Some rows occupy the per-1,000 column with a minimum and maximum of 1, meaning the listed rate is the price of the whole order. And reviews are sold per review but listed per 1,000, which is why Trustpilot rows appear at $2,000–$10,000.
How does per 1000 show up in a price list?
The rate column is usually headed “Rate per 1000”, “Price / 1K” or just “Rate”, and in the API it arrives as a string in the rate field of each services row. The order form multiplies it by quantity ÷ 1000 to produce the charge.
Watch for a mismatch between the rate column and the min/max columns. When minimum equals maximum equals 1, the number in the rate column is the full order price, not a per-thousand rate — Discord server boosts are the clearest case, listed at $1.00–$25.42 “per 1000” for what is roughly $0.30–$0.60 per boost-month.
