Why does stream matter to a buyer?
Spotify is much cheaper than most buyers assume and carries the largest single catalogue in the sampled market, with 3,371 play listings and a $0.69 per-thousand reference rate for lifetime-guaranteed, drip-fed delivery (PanelCompare domain research, 2026-09-06). Most panels sell one SKU covering track, album, episode, playlist, artist and user plays, so paying separately for a “podcast play” row at a premium is usually paying for the label.
The differentiator that is real on this platform is source rather than quality.
