Partial refund
Last updated by The PanelCompare editorial team
Why does partial refund matter to a buyer?
It is automatic, and it goes to the wallet. Both halves cause confusion: buyers wait for a refund that has already happened, or look for it on their card and conclude it never came. Checking the wallet balance before contacting support resolves a large share of these.
What a partial refund does not do is compensate for the shortfall. You are made whole in money for units you did not receive, not in units — and if the service has since become unavailable, there may be nowhere to spend the credit on the same thing.
How does partial refund show up in a price list?
It appears as a wallet transaction rather than a catalogue field, usually labelled with the order ID. The order itself stays in Partial status with its original charge shown.
Because the credit is wallet funds rather than withdrawable money, a partial refund on a panel you have decided to stop using is effectively a loss.
Think this definition is wrong?
Terminology in this market is set by the panels that use it, and it moves. If a panel uses partial refund to mean something other than what is written here, send us the listing and we will either correct the definition or record the variant. The process is on the about page.
