Refills and remedies
Auto-refill
Last updated by The PanelCompare editorial team
Why does auto-refill matter to a buyer?
Manual refill fails on attention rather than on policy. It requires the buyer to check a metric, notice a shortfall, identify which order covers it and claim inside the window — per order. Most buyers do none of that, which is part of why long refill windows cost panels less than they appear to.
Auto-refill removes that failure mode, which makes it a genuine differentiator worth indexing rather than a cosmetic feature. It also requires the panel’s software to support it, so its presence says something about the platform the panel runs.
How does auto-refill show up in a price list?
It is a panel-level or service-level setting rather than a catalogue column, often described on the service page as auto refill or auto top-up with a check interval.
The API has no auto-refill action, because the scheduling happens on the panel side; what you see through the API is refills appearing without your having requested them.
Think this definition is wrong?
Terminology in this market is set by the panels that use it, and it moves. If a panel uses auto-refill to mean something other than what is written here, send us the listing and we will either correct the definition or record the variant. The process is on the about page.
