Do SMM panels need my password?

Why does a panel never need a credential?

Because nothing in the delivery mechanism touches your account. Followers, likes, views and comments are produced by other accounts interacting with content that is already public. The API specification the whole market implements has no field for a password, a session token or an OAuth grant — the order parameters are a service ID, a link and a quantity.

There is no legitimate exception

Not for “private account” services, not for “account management” or “growth coaching” upsells, not for “we need to verify ownership”, and not for a code sent to your phone. Every one of those framings appears in credential-harvesting operations. A request for the credential is the tell, regardless of the reason attached to it.

What should you do if you already gave one out?

  1. 1.Change the password immediately, from a device you trust, and change it anywhere you reused it.
  2. 2.Revoke every third-party app authorisation in the platform’s security settings — an OAuth grant survives a password change, a password does not.
  3. 3.Turn on two-factor authentication if it is not already on, and review the recovery email and phone number for changes.
  4. 4.Check for sent messages, new follows, changed bio links and connected business accounts: a harvested account is usually monetised by using it, not by locking you out.

PanelCompare does not list panels that ask buyers for a social account password. It is an editorial exclusion rather than a scoring penalty, so such a panel is removed from the index rather than ranked lower.
