Why is the cheapest service on an SMM panel usually the worst deal?

Last updated by The PanelCompare editorial team

What is a loss leader on a panel?

One or two rock-bottom services — typically Instagram likes or TikTok views — priced below market specifically to win comparison searches and screenshots, with the remaining several thousand rows priced normally. The headline rate is an advertising cost, not a description of the panel (PanelCompare domain research, 2026-09-06).

What are you giving up at the bottom of the price ladder?

  • Durability. The cheapest tier is programmatically created accounts with no avatar and no posts, and it is the first thing a platform sweep removes.
  • Remedy. Cheap rows usually carry no refill flag at all, so a drop leaves you with nothing to press.
  • Availability. Loss-leader rows are the ones most often disabled the moment a wallet is funded, or repriced without notice.
  • Comparability. A rate that low is frequently a service whose unit is not what it appears to be — see the per-1000 traps.

The honest test is a basket: the same defined set of ten to fifteen services priced across every panel on the same day. A panel that is cheap on the basket is cheap; a panel that is cheap on one row has bought a headline.

Think this answer is wrong?

Prices, refill terms and platform policies in this market all move, so an answer that was right in September may not be right in December. Every figure above names its source and the date it was checked; if one of them is stale or wrong, the correction process on the about page has a two-working-day reply target, and corrections are published with a dated note rather than quietly patched.
